On the Issue of Using Ballot Papers Instead of EVMs in Elections: Congress Must Admit to Winning Through Vote Theft, Says BJP State President Vijayendra

In this context, the Congress should first ensure the resignation of the 136 Congress MLAs elected in the 2023 state elections using EVMs and the nine Congress Lok Sabha members elected from the state. Let them contest and win again using ballot papers, or else admit that they came to power through vote theft.

The decision by the @INCKarnataka government's cabinet to set aside EVMs and use ballot papers in upcoming elections (for local bodies) is akin to the Congress party admitting that it came to power in the state through vote theft. In this context, the Congress should first ensure the resignation of the 136 Congress MLAs elected in the 2023 state elections using EVMs and the nine Congress Lok Sabha members elected from the state. Historically, the highest number of complaints regarding illegal voting, vote theft, electoral malpractices, and election-related violence registered in courts have been associated with elections conducted using ballot papers, particularly involving the Congress. Congress leaders should revisit the pages of history. The nation has not forgotten that the imposition of Emergency by Indira Gandhi was a consequence of a court verdict related to vote theft and electoral malpractices committed under her leadership. Skilled in conducting electoral fraud and vote theft during ballot paper-based elections, the Congress has been pushed to the sidelines due to continuous electoral losses.

Frustrated by this situation, @RahulGandhi is resorting to baseless, immature, and contentious arguments, attempting to stir controversy in the name of vote theft. In support of this, the @INCKarnataka government, ruling the state, has decided to conduct local body elections using ballot papers. While the entire nation and the world are moving forward with technology, the Karnataka Congress government is insulting technology and attempting to revert to outdated methods. There are still records of the extent of malpractices in elections conducted using ballot papers during Congress's rule. In the 1990s, in Davanagere, a BJP Lok Sabha candidate who had initially won was defeated in a recount, with the Congress candidate declared the winner. Media reports from that time documented how the BJP candidate’s ballot papers were rejected and found scattered in the toilets of the Davanagere vote-counting center.GST Reduction May Cost Karnataka ₹70,000 Crore: Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara

The Congress, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, supports ballot paper-based elections for the sole reason that they enable electoral malpractices, booth capturing, and unchecked fraudulent voting. The Karnataka Congress government is taking the first step to implement this agenda. The Congress’s primary goal and agenda appear to be undermining the democratic system and transparent elections.
