Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 is one of the most anticipated films. Following the massive success of Kantara in 2022, the prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, has generated immense curiosity among audiences. Rishab Shetty is putting in his best effort for this film.
It is reported that Rishab Shetty performed all the stunts in Kantara: Chapter 1 without using any body doubles. The film’s action-stunt choreographer, Arjun Raj, recently shared details about this.
He said, “We didn’t use body doubles for Rishab. He performed bare-bodied. His body language is so unique that no one could replicate it. He trained in sword fighting and horse riding. Yet, the risks he took were entirely driven by his willpower. I’ve worked with many actors, but Rishab doesn’t just say, ‘I’ll try my best.’ He says, ‘I’ll do it as long as I’m alive.’ That mindset changes everything.”
Kantara: Chapter 1 is one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious projects. A creative team, including music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan, has shaped the film’s visual and emotional narrative.
To carry forward the legacy of the 2022 blockbuster, the makers have left no stone unturned. For Kantara: Chapter 1, a massive war sequence has been designed with over 500 skilled warriors and 3,000 people, involving national and international experts.

This war sequence was filmed in a 25-acre town over 45-50 days, making it one of the grandest scenes in Indian cinema history.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is set during the Kadamba era in Karnataka. The Kadambas were prominent rulers who governed parts of Karnataka and played a key role in shaping the region’s architecture and culture. That era is considered a golden age in Indian history.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to release in theaters on October 2, 2025, in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
