Anupam Kher shared a post related to the film on his 'X' account, including two photos from the movie’s screening. In one photo, Anupam Kher is seen posing alone on the red carpet, while the other features the film’s team, including director Vivek Agnihotri.
Captioning the post, Anupam wrote, “Best wishes to Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, Abhishek Agarwal, and the entire The Bengal Files team on the film’s release. This is an important film of our time. Please watch it in theaters.”
In Vivek Agnihotri’s latest ‘Files’ series, The Bengal Files, Anupam Kher portrays Mahatma Gandhi. The first look of his character sparked significant buzz upon its release. Regarding Anupam Kher’s role, Vivek Agnihotri shared in an interview with Amar Ujala, “Initially, Anupam refused to take on this role. I had selected someone else. However, later Anupam called me and expressed his desire to be part of the film.”
Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Bengal Files is based on the 1946 Calcutta riots and the Noakhali riots. Alongside Anupam Kher, the film features Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Simrat Kaur Randhawa, Puneet Issar, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Priyamshu Chatterjee, and Divyendu Bhattacharya in key roles.
