Siroya criticized the state government for previously imposing additional levies that negated the relief from reduced petrol and diesel prices, depriving people of intended benefits.

He urged the Congress-led government to avoid similar tactics with GST reforms, emphasizing that such measures undermine public welfare. Siroya expressed concern that the Karnataka government appears to be justifying additional taxes by claiming that GST reforms could lead to revenue losses for the state.
