In a major development in the Dharmasthala buried skull case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) summoned Soujanya’s uncle, Vital Gowda, for questioning. He appeared at the SIT office in Beltangady on September 5, 2025. His interrogation is reportedly linked to allegations concerning the origin of the skull(s) buried in the temple town.

It is now being alleged that the skull previously presented in court as evidence during Chinnayya’s hearing was originally handed over by Vital Gowda himself. As of now, SIT continues its investigation, and it remains to be seen what further disclosures may come from Vital Gowda. Previously, SIT had interrogated several suspects, including Chinnayya, Timarodi, Sujatha Bhatt, Sameer, and Girish Mattannavar.
