Bagalkote, September 8, 2025: In a shocking incident in Bidari village of Jamakhandi taluk, Bagalkote district, a father and mother, unable to bear the constant harassment from their alcoholic son, allegedly set him on fire, resulting in his death. The incident occurred on September 5, 2025, but came to light only recently. In connection with this case, the police have arrested three individuals, including the father, mother, and brother.
According to police information, the victim, Anil (35), was an alcoholic who continuously tormented his family members. He is said to have physically assaulted his father Shivabasappa Bangari, mother Shantavva, and brother Shantakumar. Frequent quarrels erupted in the family due to his demands for money to fuel his addiction. On the day of the murder, Anil returned home in an inebriated state and started causing a ruckus. Losing their patience, the family members tied his hands and legs with ropes, doused him with diesel, and set him on fire.
