In a significant development in the Renukaswamy murder case, a Bengaluru Sessions Court has rejected a request by Parappana Agrahara Central Jail authorities to transfer accused actor Darshan to Ballari Central Prison. The court, presided over by 64th City Civil and Sessions Judge I.P. Naik, stated that there were no sufficient grounds for transferring Darshan to Ballari. “There are plenty of other prisoners here itself, so why are you making it urgent only for Darshan? – What was the police’s reply to the court’s question?”
However, the court approved Darshan’s plea for basic amenities, directing jail authorities to provide essentials like bedding, pillows, and bedsheets as per the prison manual, offering some relief to the actor. The court also considered a separate application by jail authorities to transfer Darshan and other accused to various prisons across the state, which was dismissed.

During the hearing conducted via video conference, Darshan made an emotional plea to the judge, stating, “It’s been 30 days since I’ve seen sunlight. My hands are infected with fungus. I don’t ask for anyone else, but please let them give me poison. Let the court itself issue this order.”
The judge responded firmly, advising Darshan against making such statements and assuring that appropriate directives would be given to jail authorities. The court adjourned the matter to the afternoon for the final order. Senior advocate Sandesh Chouta and advocate Sunil Kumar represented Darshan, while Special Public Prosecutor P. Prasanna Kumar argued for the prosecution."I Can't Bear It Anymore, Give Me Some Poison" – What Did the Court Say to Darshan's Statement?
The court’s decision to ensure basic facilities reflects a balance between maintaining prison protocols and addressing the accused’s requests, while its rejection of the transfer plea keeps Darshan in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Jail for now.
