Incidents of anti-national slogans in India, where people favor neighboring countries over their own, are on the rise. In Bhadravati, Shivamogga district, reports emerged of pro-Pakistan slogans being chanted during a festival celebration. A similar incident was also reported in Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru.
According to data from the Home Department, six such cases have been registered over the past three years. The number of cases steadily increased: one in 2023, two in 2024, and three in 2025. Additionally, the number of religion-based incidents has also been high, with 36, 37, and 21 cases recorded in the respective years.
During an Eid Milad procession, a group of youths allegedly chanted pro-Pakistan slogans. A video of the incident was widely circulated on social media. More recently, a similar event in Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru, reportedly led to a conflict between Hindu and Muslim community leaders.

A Spate of Heinous Crimes -
Serious anti-national acts such as bomb threats, murders, and fatal assaults have been reported in several major states across the country. In addition, there has been a gradual increase in cases of sexual violence, cyber fraud, and physical assault.
Regardless of one's background, any behavior that undermines national unity and harmony must be punished. It is clear that these immoral acts are often fueled by religious intolerance. For India to be a nation of harmonious unity, people must first shed the vile mindset of denigrating other religions.
