Thackeray questioned the rationale behind engaging in a cricket match with Pakistan while Indian soldiers are risking their lives to protect the country. Referencing Prime Minister Modi's past statement, "Blood and water cannot flow together," Thackeray asked, "Then how can blood and cricket flow together? How can war and cricket happen at the same time?"
His comments come in the wake of the recent attack in Pahalgam. Thackeray urged India to boycott the match, stating that it would be a clear stand against terrorism and a show of respect for national sentiment. He made these remarks while addressing reporters today.
