Siddaramaiah called Basavanna the world's first universal man and a cultural leader of Karnataka. He also described Anubhava Mantapa as the world's first parliament.

Mysuru: Speaking at an event organized by the JSS Prasada Nilayagala Hiriya Vidyarthigala Gruha Nirmana Sahakara Sangha Niyamita Mysuru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that education is the only path to becoming a self-respecting, independent, and responsible individual.

The event, held at Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Nagar near Varuna Lake, saw the chief minister inaugurating a housing initiative. He congratulated the cooperative society for its unprecedented effort in distributing land plots to its members at the same price it was acquired, a first in the history of cooperative societies.

Siddaramaiah Remembers Basavanna -

During his speech, the chief minister paid tribute to the 12th-century social reformer Basavanna, stating that women were granted the right to education during his time. Basavanna helped those deprived of education due to the caste system to break free and gain knowledge.

Siddaramaiah called Basavanna the world's first universal man and a cultural leader of Karnataka. He also described Anubhava Mantapa as the world's first parliament.

According to the chief minister, Basavanna is a role model for creating an egalitarian and harmonious society, as he strived to make the dream of a secular society a reality. Siddaramaiah concluded by saying that the caste system can only be truly moved when individuals gain economic and social empowerment.
