Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has announced a three-day disruption in the supply of Cauvery water, a primary source of drinking water for the city, due to emergency maintenance work. BWSSB Chairman Dr. V. Ram Prasath Manohar has already issued a warning to residents, stating that several parts of the city will not receive Cauvery water from September 15 to 17.
Details of the Maintenance Work: Cauvery Stage 5 Pumping Stations: Suspension from 1:00 AM on September 15 to 1:00 PM on September 17 (total of 60 hours).

This maintenance work is being undertaken to ensure the smooth operation and long-term sustainability of the Cauvery water supply project’s pumping stations and main pipelines. Impact on Specific Areas:The disruption will affect drinking water supply in all areas of the city that rely on Cauvery water, including Koramangala, Indiranagar, JP Nagar, Whitefield, and Malleswaram. The mobile tanker services under the Cauvery project will also be suspended for regular supply during this period and will be used only for emergency needs.
BWSSB’s Advice: Residents are urged to store sufficient water in advance as a precaution.
