The gang was producing counterfeit documents mimicking those from the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board and various state boards, selling them to unsuspecting individuals. The accused, Yashwant and Raghuveer, who ran the Gurudatta Cyber Centre in Habbagodi, have been arrested. This bust serves as a stark warning to those using fake documents for purposes like checking into OYO rooms or securing jobs. According to police sources, the gang forged SSLC, PUC, and degree marks cards from Karnataka and other states. Prices ranged from ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 for an SSLC marks card and ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 for a fake Aadhaar card.

Using Photoshop software, the forgers created realistic replicas complete with official seals and prints. Authorities suspect several youths have used these documents for employment or accommodation. The gang contacted customers via online service centers, collected their details, and delivered the fakes, attracting orders from across the country. A case has been registered at Habbagodi Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
