Bengaluru:
There has been a surge in the use of unauthorized vehicles in Bengaluru, particularly by garment manufacturing units and other production companies. These businesses are reportedly using commercial vehicles without proper registration or tax compliance. Key Highlights of the Operation:
Garment companies have been found using non-transport vehicles without paying the required taxes.
Action has been taken against PSV (Public Service Vehicles) operating illegally.
Vehicles transporting goods beyond permissible limits have also come under scrutiny.
A special drive was conducted by RTO officials in Yelahanka and Devanahalli.
11 special squads were formed for this focused enforcement operation.
Over 650 vehicles were inspected; legal cases have been registered against more than 208 vehicles.

This action by the RTO officials is a step in the right direction against those who are misusing vehicles and evading taxes, effectively cheating the state treasury. If similar operations are conducted across other areas, authorities may be able to uncover an even larger network of tax evasion and illegal transport practices.
