The disaster has sparked panic among locals, prompting the district administration to launch immediate search and rescue operations. This calamity follows a cloudburst in Dehradun and surrounding districts, which claimed 23 lives, caused rivers to overflow, and destroyed roads, bridges, and numerous homes.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari led teams, including local police, the District Disaster Management Force, and the National Disaster Response Force , to initiate rescue operations.
