Mandya: Despite the ongoing legal disputes surrounding the Cauvery Aarti at Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam, the ceremony has been quietly initiated at the Brindavan Gardens. Now, a statue of Goddess Cauvery, made of Plaster of Paris (PoP), has been installed within the Brindavan Gardens at KRS in Srirangapatna taluk, and preparations for the Cauvery Aarti have been quietly underway.Several farmers' organizations have already opposed the Cauvery Aarti and filed lawsuits in court. Despite the matter being sub-judice, preparations for the Cauvery Aarti are progressing under the orders of Deputy Chief Minister D.K. As part of these efforts, an experimental Cauvery Aarti was conducted last night. The event took place in the presence of officials from the Cauvery Irrigation Corporation and the Muzrai Department. It is said that a team of 13 priests performed the aarti for 30 minutes.No official date has been fixed for the regular conduct of the Cauvery Aarti. All necessary preparations for the event have already been completed.
