According to data from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, a record-breaking 332 mm of rainfall was recorded in Garia Kamhahari within a few hours. Jodhpur Park recorded 285 mm, Kalighat 280 mm, Thakurpukur 275 mm, and Ballygunge 264 mm.A meteorological department official stated that the heavy rainfall is due to a low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal.
