Hassan: Revenue Minister and Hassan District In-charge Minister, Krishna Byre Gowda, has directed health officials to pay special attention to health issues arising from modern lifestyles. He made this statement during a district progress review meeting with health officials and the director of Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS).

During the meeting, Minister Byre Gowda sought comprehensive information on various health issues, with a particular focus on the rise of heart attacks and other non-communicable diseases. He urged officials to create plans to prevent and treat conditions such as cancer, liver diseases, and heart-related illnesses, in addition to traditionally prioritized diseases like dengue and malaria.

He called for a new, forward-thinking approach to public health, stating that while focus has been on infectious diseases, the current health landscape demands a broader strategy to combat lifestyle-related ailments.
