Renowned author and novelist S.L. Bhyrappa, a towering figure in Kannada literature, passed away yesterday. Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament for Bengaluru South, paid his respects, stating that Bhyrappa was a source of inspiration for his own aspirations of nation-building, just as he had inspired countless young writers with his impactful novels and ideas.
Surya remarked that Bhyrappa's profound literary works and deep intellectual churning were a significant contribution to the nation's progress and cultural richness. He described the author's philosophical and ethical clarity, as demonstrated in his visionary books, as more than just a collection of writings. They were, in his words, instrumental in shaping the desire to read and learn that a young person needs on the path of nation-building. The MP further commented on Bhyrappa's life story, calling it an inspiration to others. He expressed his admiration for the author's storytelling, character development, and narrative style, which he described as truly astonishing. Bhyrappa's writing had a unique ability to captivate readers and, in doing so, taught him a profound love for life itself. "He was my guide in portraying the various facets of human life," Surya added.
Surya also highlighted the author's philosophical exploration of religion, culture, and history. He stated that Bhyrappa's great works, with their truthful, scientific, and spiritual principles, taught him the importance of not only artistically creating and preserving viewpoints rooted in our land but also of doing so in a country like India.
