Bengaluru: New Police Measures for Crime Control - Checkpoints, Patrols, and Area Domination Planned

To control crime and maintain law and order in the city, Commissioner Singh has implemented new strategies, assigning additional responsibilities to the police department.

To curb the rising crime rates in Bengaluru, City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has introduced a new action plan. To control crime and maintain law and order in the city, Commissioner Singh has implemented new strategies, assigning additional responsibilities to the police department. The Commissioner has instructed the police to undertake checkpoints, patrols, and area domination operations to tackle criminal activities. Additional patrolling has been ordered alongside night-shift patrols, which is expected to help prevent crime.Also Read: Meeting between Minister V. Every Tuesday and Thursday, "area domination" operations must be conducted in a specific area under each police station's jurisdiction. Additionally, two checkpoints are to be set up daily, with inspections carried out between 9 PM and 11 PM.Similarly, foot patrolling has been mandated every Friday and Saturday, particularly in highly sensitive areas and crowded places, with patrols scheduled between 9 PM and midnight.Inspectors, ACPs, and DCPs are required to personally participate in these operations.


They have been instructed to treat women and children courteously during inspections. The Commissioner has issued strict orders to provide regular updates on all these activities to the control room.
