Amid the public discourse surrounding the Dharmasthala case and the Supreme Court's ruling, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed severe displeasure towards Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara.The CM has questioned why the government proceeded with the SIT probe even after the Supreme Court dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the 'Burudde Gang.
' This has put the government in a difficult spot, he stated.With the state government already facing embarrassment on this issue, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah summoned the Home Minister and posed a series of questions: "Were you unaware that the petition was dismissed in the Supreme Court? Prior to this, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara had held a meeting lasting over an hour with SIT head Pronab Mohanty to gather details on the case. "It was reported in the media—didn't it catch your attention? On the Dharmasthala case, the CM asked what steps should be taken next, warning that opposition parties would weaponize this issue. "You've been investigating this for two months. Shouldn't you have collected information on this?" Parameshwara vented his frustration.
Senior Supreme Court advocate K.V. Dhananjay issued a clarification on the dismissal of the Public Interest Litigation. The Supreme Court stated that the petition was dismissed because the complainant filed it late and failed to scrutinize the merits of the allegations. He emphasized in a press release that the ongoing SIT investigation remains unaffected by the court's remarks.
