Among the many highlights of the world-renowned Mysuru Dasara festival, the grand drone show held on September 28 left spectators spellbound. At the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap, 2,983 drones were used to craft intricate formations of Goddess Durga, a tiger, an ambari, and Arjuna. The tiger formation, created using 1,985 drones, stood out as it secured a Guinness World Record.

Mysuru: During the iconic Mysuru Dasara at Bannimantap, a mesmerizing display featuring 2,983 drones created stunning formations of Goddess Durga, a tiger, an ambari (royal elephant), and Arjuna, captivating the audience. The tiger artwork, in particular, earned a Guinness World Record.

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), as part of the Dasara festivities, organized this spectacular drone show, according to Managing Director Munigopal Raju. While last year’s 2024 display used 1,500 drones, this year’s event nearly doubled that number with around 3,000 drones. CESC made extensive preparations for this record-breaking event, with engineers, auditors, and legal experts overseeing the planning. Raju emphasized that this year’s street lighting and drone show would offer a memorable experience, surpassing all previous records.

Ahead of the main displays on October 1 and 2, CESC conducted two trial shows on September 28 and 29. The drone show featured formations including a solar system, world map, a proud Indian soldier, a peacock, a dolphin, an eagle, Lord Krishna dancing on a serpent, Mother Cauvery, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the map of Karnataka, the state’s five guarantee schemes alongside the Karnataka map, an ambari elephant, and Goddess Chamundeshwari.
