Manila: At least 31 people lost their lives in a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the Philippines yesterday. The intense earthquake caused significant damage to numerous houses and buildings. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 kilometers, impacting an area approximately 19 kilometers northeast of Bogo, a coastal city in Cebu province with a population of about 90,000.In Bogo, around 14 residents perished due to the earthquake. Many people are trapped under debris caused by landslides, and rescue operations are still underway.
