Bengaluru: The Excise Department officials in Bengaluru have successfully carried out a major operation, arresting a man attempting to smuggle a large quantity of Ganja (cannabis) into the city. The operation, led by Excise Deputy Superintendent (DySP) Abubakkar Mujawar and his team, resulted in the apprehension of the accused near the Majestic Railway Station.
The arrested individual has been identified as Firoz Ansari, a native of Bihar. Officials recovered a total of 11.480 kilograms of Ganja, valued at approximately ₹10.3 lakh, from him. Ansari was allegedly transporting the narcotic substance from Bihar to Bengaluru. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities are now focused on gathering more information to uncover the wider network and other individuals involved in this drug trade. The investigation is ongoing.
