The caste census survey was supposed to commence at the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) office. Ironically, the survey could not begin on time, leaving the staff waiting outside the office for hours.

Bengaluru: The caste census survey was supposed to commence at the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) office. Ironically, the survey could not begin on time, leaving the staff waiting outside the office for hours. To avoid further wastage of time, the office lock was broken, and the staff proceeded to distribute the necessary materials for conducting the survey.The staff assigned to the caste census were provided with ID cards, forms to be filled out, a separate section for cases where people refuse to provide information, pens, and three apps.also read: General Upendra Dwivedi Urges Soldiers to Be Ready for Operations at Any Moment


One of these apps facilitates connectivity through locale GPS, and another is a category-specific app.Typically, each surveyor is assigned 280 households to cover. They have been given a six-day timeframe to complete the task, with provisions for extension if any shortcomings are identified.Prior to the caste census, the staff underwent two days of training.
