Padma Bhushan (India's third-highest civilian award) in 2011.
Karnataka Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka in 2008.
Swadeshabhimani Kesari Award by the Government of Kerala in 2019.
A prolific writer in both English and Malayalam, T.J.S. George served as the Chairman of the Asian Institute of Journalism. He was celebrated for his exceptional editorial vision and simple, gracious personality. He was known for constantly encouraging younger journalists.
