The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast that Cyclone ‘Shakti’ is likely to hit the Maharashtra coast, warning of strong winds and heavy rainfall.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding Cyclone 'Shakti', which is anticipated to impact the Maharashtra coast, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The effects of the cyclonic system are also expected to trigger widespread rainfall across several districts of Karnataka.

The IMD forecasts that a large to moderate cyclonic system will be active between October 4 and 7. As a result, coastal Maharashtra and areas around Mumbai are on alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Maharashtra Takes Precautionary Measures -

In Maharashtra, authorities have activated disaster management teams and local district administrations to implement precautionary measures. The state government has issued clear directives to district officials to ensure the safety of residents in coastal and low-lying areas and strictly restrict any sea travel.
