Final Farewell to TJS George with State Honours: CM, Dignitaries Pay Tributes..!!

The final rites of veteran journalist and Padma Bhushan awardee TJS George were performed with state honours at the Hebbal crematorium on Sunday.

Bengaluru: The final rites of veteran journalist and Padma Bhushan awardee TJS George were performed with state honours at the Hebbal crematorium on Sunday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with prominent figures from politics, journalism, and literature, paid their last respects to the literary stalwart.Due to age-related ailments, George passed away on Friday at a private hospital.also read : Caste Census Survey Has Just One Day Left... His mortal remains were brought to the crematorium and kept for public viewing from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM. The police band played the national anthem, and a three-round salute was fired in the air to honour him. The national flag was handed over to the family. Siddaramaiah recalled, "George's pen was the strength of Indian journalism." DK Shivakumar, KC Venugopal, Ayesha Khanum, Ravi Hegde, Girish Jog, HR Ranganath, Vishweshwar Bhat, and others paid tributes.
