Odisha: The city of Cuttack has been rocked by severe communal tension following clashes that erupted during a religious procession, forcing the government to impose a 36-hour curfew and a 24-hour internet ban to restore order.

The unrest escalated during the Durga Puja idol immersion procession. Tensions first spiked on October 5th after the district administration reportedly denied permission for a bike rally organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
