Congress Leader B.K. Hariprasad Condemns Attack on CJI, Draws Parallel to Babri Mosque Demolition.!

Senior Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad strongly condemned the act of a lawyer who threw a shoe at CJI B.R. Gavai. He stated that such inhuman acts are driven by the same ideology as those who demolished the Babri Masjid.

Senior Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad has strongly condemned the act of a lawyer who allegedly hurled a shoe at Supreme Court Justice B.R. Gavai, stating that such "inhumane acts" are motivated by the same ideology as the "Sanghis" who demolished the Babri Masjid.

Justice Gavai, who is sometimes perceived as a pro-Dalit judge, was the target of the attack on Monday. Following the incident, the accused was arrested.

Hariprasad took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to express his outrage, drawing a direct link between the perpetrators of different historical and recent events:

"There are similarities between the Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi, the Sanghis who demolished the Babri Masjid, and the Sanatani lawyer who hurled a shoe at a Supreme Court Justice. The ideology that is spreading hatred in the country, the ideology that is harming the emotional unity of the country, the ideology that is attacking the Constitution itself, the ideology that is breeding terrorism in the country, is the very one manifesting in this manner."

He further asserted that such attacks undermine the democratic system and the rule of law. Hariprasad demanded a thorough investigation to identify and harshly punish those behind this act, stressing that these actions harm social harmony and raise serious concerns about the safety and independence of the judiciary.

He explicitly mentioned the alleged similarity in mindset between the Sangh Parivar members involved in the Babri Masjid demolition and the "Sanatani lawyer" who recently attacked the judge, underscoring his belief that these acts stem from a common, dangerous ideology.
