The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has significantly intensified its investigation into the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, which had previously drawn controversy involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family. Although progress on the case had been slow over the past year, the probe has recently gained renewed momentum.

ED officials have officially seized 252 plots involved in the alleged corruption. The total value of these seized properties is officially estimated to be approximately ₹440 crore. Records indicate that these sites were illegally allotted.

The investigation accelerated following the arrest of former MUDA Commissioner, Dinesh Kumar. The ED seized 34 plots registered under his name, valued at an estimated ₹40.8 crore. During the course of the investigation, officials discovered that Dinesh Kumar had allegedly amassed benami (proxy-name) properties registered under the names of his family members and domestic workers. The ED has confiscated all these assets and is continuing its interrogation of the benami property holders. This aggressive approach is expected to bring increased seriousness and pace to the overall investigation.

ED officials have indicated that they are scrutinizing all aspects of the scam and that more information may be revealed in the coming days.
