Karnataka Caste Census Extension Forces Major School Timetable Change: Classes from 8 AM to 1 PM

The state government has extended the duration of the caste census survey, leading to major changes in the academic schedule. From October 8, classes in government and aided schools across the state will be held only from 8 AM to 1 PM.

The Karnataka State Government's extension of the Social and Educational Survey, popularly known as the Caste Census (Jati Ganati), has led to a significant change in the academic schedule. The Department of School Education on Monday issued an order modifying the timings of government and aided schools across the state, as teachers are deployed for survey duties.

The Caste Census, which began on September 22, was initially scheduled to conclude on October 7. However, citing the inability to complete the survey within the stipulated period, the government announced an extension. Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro is STM Lens - Black

According to the revised schedule, the survey period has been extended until October 24 in the Greater Bengaluru area. For other districts outside Bengaluru, the survey will now run until October 12. Consequently, the new school timings will be implemented starting October 8.

Effective from October 8 to October 24, classes in government and aided schools will be held only from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Teachers are mandated to participate in the survey work during the afternoon session. The order also specifies that the survey must be conducted even on holidays.
