The number of cyberattacks in the state is increasing year-on-year, posing a significant challenge to the government's online systems and public service portals. Reports suggest this surge is severely complicating data management and e-governance initiatives, leading to heightened fears of data leaks.

Hackers are reportedly targeting state government websites, servers, and public-facing online systems with increasing frequency. This escalation has, at times, led to the non-functioning of some critical sites, raising widespread concern over potential data breaches.

Surge in Cyber Incidents -

Statistical data highlights the growing threat: the number of attacks reportedly rose from 22,253 in 2023 to 24,472 in 2024. In the first nine months of this year alone, 8,620 cyberattacks have been officially recorded.

Experts point to several key factors contributing to this vulnerability: weak security measures on government servers, delays in technology upgrades, the continued use of outdated software, and the exposure of social data information. Canon RF 70-200mm F4L is USM

To enhance government transparency and efficiency, experts recommend that both government and private organizations must fortify their cybersecurity. This includes implementing regular software updates, enforcing strong password policies, and conducting periodic security audits. The public is also urged to exercise caution and follow appropriate cybersecurity guidelines to mitigate risks.
