August 2025: An IED explosion in Balochistan’s Mastung district derailed six coaches of the Jaffar Express, injuring several passengers and halting train services for days.
March 2025: The BLA hijacked the Jaffar Express, carrying 400 passengers, and held them hostage.
According to Pakistan Railways, 270 passengers were on board during this latest attack.
The explosion in Sultankot is the second bomb attack in the region within 10 hours. Another blast near the railway tracks damaged the infrastructure, disrupting train operations.
