Ramnagara: Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12, the popular reality show, has run into major trouble just one week after its launch. Following an order from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) due to alleged environmental norm violations, officials have sealed the Jollywood Studio and Adventures Park in Ramanagara. This has led to the temporary halt of the show's shooting. The 17 contestants have been moved to a resort in Bidadi, while the Jollywood management is reportedly preparing to take legal action by approaching the court. The sudden turn of events has left the show's future in question.
Production Halted Over Environmental Violations -
The massive setback occurred just as the reality show entered its second week. District administration and officials sealed the premises of Jollywood Studios, bringing the production to an abrupt stop. The reason cited is the serious violation of environmental regulations as ordered by the KSPCB. This action has impacted the work of the 17 contestants and hundreds of technicians involved in the production.
On Tuesday evening, officials, in the presence of Tahsildar Tejaswini, sealed the Jollywood Studio located in the Bidadi Industrial Area, Ramnagara Taluk. The contestants were given until 7:30 PM to exit the Bigg Boss house. They have since been relocated to the Eagleton Resort in Bidadi. With the show completely suspended, Jollywood's management has decided to pursue a legal battle. It is anticipated that the next steps will be decided following a court order.
The Root Cause: Lack of Sewage Treatment Plant and Operation Without Consent -
The primary reason for the action is the alleged non-compliance with environmental norms by Jollywood Studios and Entertainment Private Limited. Key violations are said to include the failure to construct a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and operating without obtaining consent from the Pollution Control Board. It is reported that the KSPCB had issued a notice to the company, but the action was taken after the company allegedly failed to respond.
G. N. Nataraj, Chairman of the Greater Bengaluru Development Authority (GBDA), stated that "The GBDA had also issued a notice to Jollywood regarding rule violations. However, they persisted in their defiance by not responding. The institution that violated the rules has faced the appropriate punishment." Also Read: Bigg Boss Kannada 12 in Trouble!
