Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh: A massive landslide in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday evening resulted in a mountain collapsing onto a private bus, killing at least 18 people. Several individuals are feared trapped under the debris, and rescue operations continued throughout the night.

The tragic incident occurred in the Bhalughat area of Jandutta as the bus was traveling from Marot village to Ghumarwin. A large section of the hillside gave way, crashing down directly onto the vehicle.
Initial reports indicate that there were approximately 30 to 35 passengers on the bus. At least 18 bodies have been recovered so far, and three injured individuals were rescued and taken to a hospital. A police official involved in the rescue operation stated that "The entire part of the mountain fell onto the bus, making the chances of survival very slim." Heavy Rain Suspected as Cause -
Heavy rainfall that has lashed the region since Monday is suspected to be the cause of the catastrophic landslide. Police, district administration officials, and rescue teams immediately rushed to the site and have been working tirelessly through the night to search for the remaining missing persons. The area has been cordoned off, and authorities have issued a warning to travelers, advising them of traffic disruption and the dangers in the region.
Leaders Express Grief -
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed their deep sorrow over the tragedy.
Chief Minister Sukhu stated, "This disaster has shocked me. I have instructed the rescue teams to provide immediate assistance and speedy rescue.
