Banglore: In Kodigehalli village, approximately 14 acres of government land valued at around ₹350 crore, earmarked for the NICE (Bengaluru-Mysuru Infrastructure Corridor) project, was reportedly attempted to be encroached upon through fake documents, as per a social media complaint. Special Deputy Commissioner Vasanti Amar is accused of transferring the land to private parties and issuing orders in their favor. According to NICE's Field Security Officer Siddalingaiah, individuals named Puttamma, H.B. Shridhar, K.V. Chandran, and Puttagowramma submitted forged transit certificates and land allotment records.Vogaan Men's T-Shirt and Shorts Set | Top & Shorts Night Suits Set | Night Wear for Men
As per earlier reports, the gomala (grazing) land under old survey number 86 in Kodigehalli village was handed over to the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) by the district administration in 1998 for the NICE project. Although the project remains incomplete, leaving the land vacant, the four individuals had filed a petition in the High Court claiming the land was allotted to them by the government in 1954. Examination of the documents revealed discrepancies in signatures, fake transit certificates, and ambiguities in records, leading the tahsildar to report that approving their petition would not be legally valid. Also Read: Mysuru: Girl from Balloon-Selling Family Raped and Murdered; Accused Arrested Within 24 Hours
Following further scrutiny, Special Deputy Commissioner Vasanti Amar added the four individuals' names to the revenue records and issued a transfer order for the 14 acres in May 2025. This action has led NICE officials to accuse authorities of colluding with land grabbers to siphon off government property. In July, Lokayukta officials conducted raids on Vasanti Amar's assets as part of an investigation into disproportionate wealth acquisition.
Prior to this, private builder Trinko Company had entered into a purchase agreement for the land and begun constructing a compound wall. In connection with this, a complaint was filed at Byadarahalli police station against K.V. Chandran and four others from Trinko Company. However, the FIR registered only K.V. Chandran's name. According to NICE representatives, no action has been taken against the remaining four, allowing the controversy to persist.
