The IMD has forecast an increase in the intensity of rain, especially in the South Interior parts of Karnataka, with a weather warning extended until Monday. The ongoing monsoon is expected to withdraw within a week, paving the way for the post-monsoon (or North-East monsoon) showers.
Many districts in Karnataka are likely to witness heavy downpour, with the continuous rainfall anticipated to persist until October 14. The 'Orange Alert' has been specifically declared for Ramanagara, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur. Following continuous rainfall since Friday night, waterlogging has been reported in residential areas and streets across several districts, including Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Mandya, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur.
