The High Court of Karnataka has granted bail to six individuals who were arrested for allegedly abusing and making obscene comments against actress Ramya (Divya Spandana) on social media. The abuse followed a statement Ramya made regarding actor Darshan, who is an accused in the Renukaswamy murder case. In a related development, another accused in the same case was granted anticipatory bail.

The High Court issued the order today, granting conditional bail to the six arrested individuals on the grounds that the investigating officers have already filed the charge sheet. The bail applications were filed by the six accused: K. Pramod, Manjunath, C.Y. Rajesh, T. Obanna, K.M. Gangadhar, and Chinmay Shetty.

In the same matter, another accused, B.A. Vikas, was granted anticipatory bail. The bench led by Justice Shivashankar Amaranannavar heard the petitions and delivered the verdict. The court noted that since the investigating officers have submitted the charge sheet to the trial court, bail could be granted to the accused. The court has directed all six arrested individuals who secured bail to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each, along with one surety for the same amount. The accused granted anticipatory bail, Vikas, has been instructed to appear before the investigating officer or the trial court within the next two weeks and submit a bond of Rs 1 lakh and the required security guarantee.

The controversy originated when actress Ramya shared her opinion on Instagram after the Supreme Court cancelled the High Court's bail granted to the accused in the Renukaswamy murder case. In response to her post, several individuals took to social media to abuse and harass her with derogatory language.
