The police acted swiftly, using CCTV footage from the petrol pump area as a key piece of evidence to trace and apprehend the two accused. The arrested individuals have reportedly confessed to their crime.

Chikkaballapura: In a shocking and brutal incident reported from Manchanahalli village, Chikkaballapura district, two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 35-year-old woman after offering her a lift. The horrific crime, which has caused widespread fear among locals, was reportedly uncovered on October 13.

According to reports, the victim was walking from Chikkaballapura towards Gauribidanur when she was approached by the accused identified as Sikandar (a mechanic) and his friend Janardhan Achar. The victim, who was reportedly seeking assistance as she lacked the necessary funds and an Aadhaar card for bus travel, accepted their offer of a lift.

However, instead of driving her to her destination, the main accused, Sikandar, allegedly drove the woman to a secluded, abandoned area. He is accused of forcibly raping her, and then allowing his friend, Janardhan, to also sexually assault the victim.

Following the assault, the accused abandoned the distressed woman near a farmer's house close to a petrol pump before fleeing the scene. The woman's plight was later noticed by a social worker, Shilpa, on BB Road in Chikkaballapura. A case has been registered at the local Women’s Police Station. The victim has been admitted to a hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. The incident has drawn strong condemnation from local residents, and the police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
