CHENNAI/BENGALURU: Marking a major step in the evolution of digital payments in India, Muse Wearables, an IIT Madras-incubated deep-tech startup, has partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to launch the country's first-ever wearable payments ecosystem. This new system, powered by Muse Wallet and NPCI's RuPay network, enables instant and secure contactless payments via a smart ring.

Key Highlights of the Launch:

The 'Ring One' Smart Ring: The core of the ecosystem is the stylish 'Ring One' smart ring. Users can make payments simply by tapping the ring on any NFC (Near Field Communication)-enabled Point of Sale (POS) terminal, eliminating the need for a phone, card, or wallet. Also Read: India Completes Series Sweep with Commanding 7-Wicket Win Over West Indies: 2-0 series whitewash against WI

Security and Functionality: The built-in hardware security ensures that sensitive credentials are completely isolated. For added security, the company states that transactions are only enabled when the ring is worn, and removing it instantly disables payments.Handcuffs Backpacks Vegan Leather Casual Backpack Multipurpose Travelling Bags Daypacks For Men And Women

Sai Prasanth, Co-Founder and CEO of Muse Wearables, emphasized the national significance of the product: "We are taking on foreign tech giants in the digital wallet ecosystem by creating a truly sovereign alternative for India... This proves that world-class technology can be built right here in India."

Market Vision: Headquartered in Bengaluru, Muse Wearables is already onboarding issuing banks in India. The company aims to enable millions of RuPay cardholders to experience the convenience of wearable payments in the next two years, promoting cashless transactions across the country, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

This launch establishes a new benchmark for secure and effortless personal technology, furthering India's vision of widespread digital financial inclusion.
