A distressing incident of violence among students, allegedly fueled by ego and a feud over a message sent to a young woman on Instagram, was reported in Bengaluru's RT Nagar area three days ago. The confrontation escalated into a brazen act of hooliganism where a knife was brandished on a public road, raising serious concerns about growing rowdyism among the youth.

The incident began over a female student who was friends with a classmate; a senior student had repeatedly been sending harassing messages to the girl on Instagram. When her friend confronted the senior student about the harassment, the senior and his associate reportedly arrived on a motorcycle and launched an attack. The violence took place in the middle of the street, where the attackers allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. A mobile video reportedly captured the aggressive incident, which left the victim with torn clothing and visible injuries on his body. This rash and volatile behaviour has caused alarm in the community. Following the incident, a case was registered at the RT Nagar Police Station, and the police have filed an FIR and initiated an investigation into the matter.
