'I am a Cabinet Aspirant, There's Nothing Wrong in Asking': MLA Belur Gopalakrishna on Karnataka Cabinet Reshuffle!

During the cabinet reshuffle in state politics, Congress MLA Belur Gopalakrishna expressed his aspiration for a ministerial position, stating that there is nothing wrong in seeking a ministerial post. He also expressed support for Priyank Kharge's efforts to ban RSS activities in schools and colleges.

Amid ongoing discussions about a potential Cabinet reorganization in Karnataka, Congress MLA Belur Gopalakrishna has publicly expressed his desire for a ministerial post, asserting that there is "nothing wrong in asking" for one. He also voiced strong support for Minister Priyank Kharge's controversial move to ban RSS activities in state-run schools.

Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, the legislator confirmed his ambition: "I have also asked for a ministerial position. What is wrong with asking? I grew up under the tutelage of S. Bangarappa, and I am a strong aspirant. Cabinet restructuring is currently under discussion, and we have the right to ask. If given a portfolio, we will be happy, but if not, we will not cause any dissidence."

Gopalakrishna suggested that a Cabinet reshuffle would be preferable to an expansion, as it would benefit several individuals in the party. Regarding the sensitive topic of the Chief Minister's position, he maintained, "We will not discuss the CM's post; that is entirely up to the High Command. Those who have spoken about the CM post have already been issued notices. In the past, the high command always decided on the CM unanimously, and we will listen to whatever the senior leadership says."

On the RSS Ban Controversy-

Gopalakrishna also jumped into the debate over the proposed ban on RSS activities in schools and colleges, firmly supporting Priyank Kharge. iQOO Z10 Lite 5G (Titanium Blue, 4GB RAM, 128GB Storage) | 6000 mAh Battery | Dimensity 6300 5G Processor with 433K+* AnTuTu Score | IP64 Rated & Military Grade Shock-Resistance*

"The loyalty of the original RSS members is fine, but the loyalty of the BJP people, after they started wearing the 'chaddi' (a reference to the RSS uniform), has gone. The BJP people have spoiled things after adopting the 'chaddi'," he remarked critically.

He defended Kharge's move, stating, "What Priyank Kharge has said is not wrong. Let them (the RSS) hold their programs after taking permission. If they hold meetings in schools and colleges, tomorrow others will also ask for the same." He further condemned those issuing threats over the issue, questioning the identity of the callers. "They should not resort to threats for this. If they are making threats, are they terrorists or 'Kotwals'? None of that will work. We will not bow down to their threats."
