Kanneri Math Seer Adrushya Kaadasiddeshwara Swamiji Banned from Entering Vijayapura District Over Controversial Remarks!

In the backdrop of the controversial statements made in Maharashtra, Kadashiddeshwara Swamiji of Kaneri Mutt has been banned from entering Vijayapura district. This order, which aims to maintain law and order, has reportedly been enforced from October 16 to December 16, 2025.

Vijayapura: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Vijayapura district has issued an order banning Adrushya Kaadasiddeshwara Swamiji of Kanneri Math from entering the district for a period of two months. The decision follows controversial statements made by the seer in Maharashtra, which were deemed detrimental to public peace and religious harmony.

Vijayapura DC Dr. Anand K. issued the prohibitory order under Section 163(1)(2)(3) of the new Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023 (BNSS), effective from October 16 to December 16, 2025.

Background of the Controversy -

The prohibitory order stems from a recent event in Bilur village, Maharashtra, where Swamiji's statements allegedly contained derogatory remarks concerning Lingayat seers and hurt religious sentiments, as noted in the police report.

These controversial statements have triggered protests and demonstrations in several districts across Karnataka, including Gadag, Bidar, Davangere, Basavakalyan, and Belagavi. iQOO Z10x 5G (Titanium, 8GB RAM, 256GB Storage) | 6500 mAh Large Capacity Battery | Dimensity 7300 Processor | Military-Grade Durability

Police Report Cites Law and Order Concern -

The local police submitted a report stating that the seer had plans to visit Vijayapura district to participate in the Shri Siddarameshwara Maharaja Punyatithi Utsava in Basavana Bagewadi. The police warned that his visit could potentially disrupt public peace and cause a breakdown of law and order.

Details of the Order -

Considering the urgency of the situation, the DC issued an ex parte order (issued without hearing the other party). Consequently, Adrushya Kaadasiddeshwara Swamiji is prohibited from entering Vijayapura district from October 16, 2025, to December 16, 2025.

The DC stated that the action was taken specifically to maintain public peace, religious tolerance, and law and order within the district.

The order was based on documents including the Superintendent of Police's report, media reports, and evidence contained in a pen drive with video footage of the controversial statements.
