Just hours before the final date for filing nominations in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Mahagathbandhan alliance partners finalized their seat-sharing arrangement in intense late-night discussions.

The Congress party released its list of 48 candidates for the first phase. Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram has been fielded from his family's traditional constituency, while CLP leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan will contest from the Kadwa seat.
The list includes five women candidates, and coordinated campaigning under the alliance is set to begin soon.
