State Disaster Response Fund: Central Government Releases Second Installment to Karnataka-SDRF Aid: Karnataka Gets ₹384.40 Cr for Flood Relief

The Central Government has approved the release of the second installment of funds under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to the State of Karnataka for flood relief.

Key Details:

Source of Fund: This is the advance release of the second installment of the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the year 2025-26.

Purpose: The funds are intended to provide immediate relief assistance to the people affected by extremely heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides caused during this year's South-West Monsoon season.

Total Allocation: The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, approved an advance release of ₹1,950.80 crore in total to both Karnataka and Maharashtra.Also Read: "Background of the Diwali festival; Prime Minister Modi's greetings to the people of the nation; Celebration of the festival with soldiers."

Karnataka: ₹384.40 crore

Maharashtra: ₹1,566.40 crore

Central Commitment: The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the Central Government is fully committed to providing all possible assistance to states affected by natural calamities, ensuring swift relief and rehabilitation efforts.

This advance release is over and above the regular SDRF funds already available to the state governments.
