Bengaluru: A group of five miscreants, wielding machetes, attacked the public in Hennur Layout under the Hennur Police Station jurisdiction late at night, leaving residents terrified. Identified as residents of Sarvagnanagar, these rowdies caused a ruckus and intimidated locals. The police swiftly responded, apprehending three of the five suspects, identified as Ameen Sharif, Syed Arbas, and Shid Khader. A manhunt is underway for the remaining two. Inspector S. Ramachandra stated, "Strict action will be taken against the accused." Locals have demanded increased night patrolling. The police investigation revealed that the accused were trying to assert dominance in the area. A case has been registered under the Arms Act based on a complaint by Kiran. The altercation reportedly began over bursting firecrackers. Around 10 PM, Sharif, riding a bike near Dodda Ramanna Layout, was hit by a stray spark from firecrackers burst by locals. This led to a confrontation. Sharif later returned with his associates and relatives, armed with lethal weapons, intimidating and assaulting some residents.
