Amid the joyous celebrations of Diwali, Punjab Police successfully foiled a major terrorist plot in a joint operation with central agencies. In a covert mission, they uncovered a terror network, arrested two suspects, and seized a highly dangerous Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG-22 anti-tank rocket launcher). The arrested individuals have been identified as Mehakdeep Singh alias Mehak, a resident of Wadali in Amritsar, and Aditya alias Adi from Bhaga China village in Amritsar. Along with the RPG launcher, police also confiscated the scooter used by the suspects. According to preliminary investigations, the accused were in contact with a Pakistan ISI operative and Harpreet Singh alias Vikky, who is currently lodged in Ferozepur Jail, Yadav informed.The seized RPG was intended for use in the attack. The probe is ongoing with a focus on completely dismantling the ISI network, he added.
