The Central Government, under its ambitious PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan scheme) project, has so far released 20 installments of financial aid. Currently, over 9 crore beneficiary farmers are awaiting the release of the 21st installment. The 20th installment was released in August.
What is the benefit of the PM Kisan scheme?
The PM Kisan scheme was launched to support farmers in their agricultural activities. The objective of the scheme is for the government to provide a direct subsidy of ₹2,000 to farmers every four months to help with farming operations.
A total of ₹6,000 is provided to the farmers annually.
The installment amounts are usually released during the periods of April–July, August–November, and December–March.
When will the 21st installment be released?
The last PM Kisan installment (20th installment) was delayed and released in August. This time, there is a possibility that the 21st installment money may arrive within this month (October). Even if it is not released in October, it is almost certain that the 21st installment will be released in the following month, November. Who is eligible for the scheme?
To register for the scheme, farmers must have agricultural land in their name.
Ineligible Categories: Professionals such as doctors, engineers, etc., those who file ITR (Income Tax Returns), government employees, pensioners, and elected representatives, are not eligible for the PM Kisan scheme, even if they own agricultural land.
