"Are RSS Members Bigger Than God?" – Priyank Kharge Challenges Financial Transparency

"Past Mistake Was OursResponding to questions about why the previous BJP government did not investigate RSS donations, Kharge admitted, "That was our mistake. From Sardar Patel to Indira Gandhi, we showed undue leniency, allowing them to grow like this. They have trampled OBCs and Dalits under their feet."These statements have sparked discussions in political circles.

Bengaluru: Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge has stated that he is ready for an investigation by the Income Tax (IT) Department and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into his assets and income. However, he has thrown a challenge to BJP leaders: Are you ready for a probe into the donations, income, and tax payments received by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the past 100 years?

On Sunday, Priyank Kharge questioned BJP leaders via social media, saying, "Let there be an IT and ED audit and investigation into our sources of income. We are ready. Is your parent organization, the RSS, ready?" He added, "Over the last 50 years, all details of our acquired assets and income are public. We file affidavits in every election and pay taxes on our earnings. But how has the RSS, without registration or tax payments for 100 years, become the world's richest NGO? How is this possible?" he criticized. DCM D.K. Shivakumar Announces Cubbon Park Development, Discusses High Court Relocation

Speaking to reporters, he remarked, "Even the money collected in temple donation boxes is accounted for. If the RSS operates without registration and refuses to disclose donation details, are they bigger than God?" He emphasized that the RSS must function according to the law, and details of its donors should be made public. "Temple donation box funds are meticulously accounted for and used for renovations. If they consider themselves bigger than God, shouldn't we question that?" Kharge expressed his dissatisfaction.

Law Applies to Everyone EquallyCommenting on the request for permission for 11 organizations' programs in Chitapur, he clarified, "Officials will hold a peace meeting and make a decision. They will report to the court, and we will abide by its orders."Reacting to the RSS's announcement of a route march on November 2, Kharge said, "Is Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat above the law and Constitution? If they conduct a march violating the law, will the government stay silent? Even his father must follow the law." https://dv7jujfts4bjf.cloudfront.net/Untitled design - 2025-10-24T080142.136.png_2025-10-24T02:32:24.619Z

He took a dig at BJP leaders, saying praising the RSS is inevitable for them, and reminded them of Basavaraj Bommai's father's Supreme Court battle: "If they look at that verdict, Bommai would quit the BJP. "Past Mistake Was OursResponding to questions about why the previous BJP government did not investigate RSS donations, Kharge admitted, "That was our mistake.
