To enhance ease of doing business, the Central Government will introduce a simplified system for Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration from November 1, 2025, as part of its 'GST 2.0' reform package. Key Features of the Reform: Faster Approval (Within 3 Days): The new system aims to minimize human intervention. Eligible applicants will receive their GST Identification Number (GSTIN) automatically within three working days of submission.
Benefits for 96% of Applicants: The simplified approval route is estimated to benefit around 96% of new registrants.
Eligibility Criteria: This automated registration facility will primarily be available to two categories of applicants:Those identified as low-risk by the system (based on data analysis).
Applicants who self-declare that their monthly output tax liability will not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
Philosophy and Policy: Inaugurating the new CGST Bhawan in Ghaziabad, the Minister stressed that tax administration must operate "by design, not by discretion." She clarified that honest taxpayers will be treated with respect under the principle: "No trouble for those who do right; no mercy for those who do wrong" (Galat kiya toh khair nahi, sahi kiya toh koi bair nahi).
